Every year during late summer, early fall the Kenai River, located three hours southwest of Anchorage, comes to life. Why? Salmon. Starting in mid-July, with the King Salmon run, and ending early October with the final run of Silver Salmon, the Kenai river is filled with fish returning upstream to the creeks and rivers they were born in.
