Blue Halo 6WT Maiden Outing

Happy New Year and welcome to 2018! We hope all your outdoors dreams and goals come to fruition this year! Recently a long triangular packaged appeared at the door. (Best type of packages) Inside was a Sky Blue 6WT rod from Blue Halo Gear.

The rods maiden outing was on some big water throwing some hefty flies for meat-eating Cutthroats. Fishing was amazing and the rod threw those flies with the Streamer Line like a champ! The best part was the hookups and having the fish make multiple runs putting a good bend in the rod. Normally I would fish a short 1X (12lb) tippet section to a 20lb butt section, but unfortunately, the 1X spool was forgotten and left home. Rigged up with 3X (8.5lb) tippet the fiberglass rod softened the head shakes and runs and never broke off!
